Palm Springs art show theme is ‘Beg, Borrow, Steal’

The 13th annual Palm Springs juried art show on Friday will showcase local works of art under the theme, “Beg, Borrow, Steal.”

The reception and show, sponsored by the city’s Public Arts Commission, is scheduled from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at a pop-up gallery at 193 S. Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs.

Richard Twedt, former public arts manager for Palm Desert, is serving on the jury to decide the top four awards for this year’s exhibition.

A practicing sculptor, painter and public artist, he is also former chairman of the department of art at Eastern Washington University and director of its galleries.

The awards presentation is scheduled for 5:45 p.m.
